How hot should a heating pad be?
I recently broke my hip and have been told to place a heating pad on the injury. I purchased a Walgreen Sunbeam King Size Pad Moist/Dry Pad. Although the temperature is set to high, it does not feel as hot as I thought it would be. How hot should a heating pad be?
if you do this wrong you will be in serious shape;; you should NOT use a heating pad mostly because of the question you posed;; when you do use a heating pad it is NEVER for something that is "BROKE";; you should also not sense it heating you; never to use it on ANYTHING BUT LOW;; but in your case;; if it's "broke", you NEED to use a cold pack (preferably NOT a lunch ice block;; & moist heat, the safest moist heat is a shower (& that's if you have NO stitches);; putting a heating pad on an injury like your's can cause increased inflammation, infection to the hip & you DO NOT want that;; I don't know WHO told you to put heat on it but it wasn't ANYONE in the medical field;; that is why you need to see doc's, talk to professionals & not ask people who are just the general public
